Polesitter Lewis Hamilton regained the lead on the 50th lap and cruised to his second straight Formula One victory at the Canadian Grand Prix on Sunday.
McLaren Mercedes teammate Jenson Button was second.
Hamilton, who took over the leader in the F1 drivers’ standings with the win, posted his second victory in three appearances at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve. His first career win was in Montreal in 2007.
Button finished 2.2 seconds behind after 69 laps on the 4.361-kilometre track.
Fernando Alonso of Ferrari was third, while Red Bull drivers Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber were fourth and fifth respectively. It was an unusually incident-free race on the tight track. TSN

Hamilton’s second win in a row took him from third to first place in the championship with a total of 109 points. Button remained second on 106 while Webber dropped to third on 103 ahead of Alonso (94) and Vettel (90).
While there were no major crashes the race, back on the programme after being left off last year, lived up to its repuation as one of the most enthralling races on the Formula One calendar.
