Sebastian Vettel led the way during an enthralling final practice session ahead of qualifying today for the European Grand Prix.
Vettel, 19 points adrift of championship leader Lewis Hamilton, ousted Renault’s Robert Kubica from the top of the standings with his final hot lap of the hour-long run.
Vettel’s time was a staggering 1.2secs faster then the best time of yesterday set by Fernando Alonso, who was out in front for a considerable period until the pace hotted up late on. Impressively, it was also 1.5secs faster than Hamilton’s pole lap of a year ago.

Kubica found himself in a Red Bull sandwich, with Webber third, just over a quarter of a second down, followed by Adrian Sutil as Force India also displayed considerable speed with team-mate Vitantonio Liuzzi seventh. The Press Association
