Fernando Alonso got a small boost after some terrible weeks when he dominated practice for the German Formula One Grand Prix on Friday in a Ferrari.
The former world champion Alonso posted 1 minute 16.265 seconds on a mainly dry 4.574-kilometres track in the afternoon after rain had marred the morning session.
Alonso pipped German Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel, who posted 1:16.294. Felipe Massa was third in 1:16.438 in the second Ferrari and mark Webber fourth in the other Red Bull in 1:16.585 minutes. Earthtimes
Nico Rosberg and Michael Schumacher, the German drivers for Mercedes, followed in fifth and sixth.

Williams’ strong form continued, with Rubens Barrichello ninth ahead of team mate Nico Hulkenberg, on 1m 17.056s and 1m 17.204s each.
Kamui Kobayashi might have done better than 1m 17.336s for BMW Sauber but had Alonso impede him as the Spaniard started the build up to a fast lap while the Japanese was attempting to link one to another.
Renault’s Vitaly Petrov ran ahead of team mate Kubica for much of the session but ended it 12th on 1m 17.547s, just ahead of Pedro de la Rosa’s 1m 17.573s in the second BMW Sauber. Then came Sutil on 1m 17.701s and his team mate Vitantonio Liuzzi on 1m 17.871s, sandwiching Button. It’s likely that all three were focusing on race work after those times made them quick early in the session.
Sebastien Buemi put his Toro Rosso 17th on 1m 18.147s, comfortably clear of team mate Jaime Alguersuari on 1m 19.327s. Formula 1
