Red Bull Racing fired a warning shot to the rest of the Formula 1 field with a crushing performance in first practice for the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber traded the fastest time for the majority of the morning session and finished a full second clear of the competition.
Vettel ultimately shaded his team-mate by 0.1s with a best time of 1m20.976s around the dusty, little-used 2.7 miles of the Hungaroring.

F1 Standings Ahead of Hungarian Grand Prix
Robert Kubica was third quickest for Renault on 1m22.072s, with McLaren’s Jenson Button a further 0.4s adrift in an unusually spread-out field.
Button did not set a time until past the one-hour mark, while his McLaren team-mate Lewis Hamilton completed the fewest laps of anybody (15) and languished in 18th place. ITV
Brazilian veteran Rubens Barrichello was fifth for Williams and Spaniard Pedro de la Rosa sixth for Sauber ahead of two-times champion and compatriot Fernando Alonso in the leading Ferrari.
Alonso, who dismissed talk of any extra pressure on him as a result of his tainted victory at Hockenheim last weekend, was narrowly ahead of Germans Nico Rosberg and seven-times champion Michael Schumacher, both of Mercedes, and rising star Nico Hulkenberg in the second Williams.
Brazilian Felipe Massa, in the second Ferrari, who was left frustrated after leading but finishing second, following team directions, last weekend, was 12th. AFP
