Adrian Sutil was the pacesetter in Friday afternoon’s second practice session for the Italian Grand Prix, proving that Force India’s impressive Spa form was no fluke.
Sutil finished two-tenths clear of the KERS-equipped Renaults of Romain Grosjean and Fernando Alonso. Meanwhile, the man who has just left Force India, Giancarlo Fisichella, struggled to 20th in the times for Ferrari. formula1.com
Earlier Lewis Hamilton led McLaren-Mercedes team-mate Heikki Kovalainen at the top of the timesheets in first practice for Sunday’s Italian Grand Prix at Monza.
The world champion went fastest with his first flying lap early in the 90-minute session and his time was never beaten.
Hamilton’s morning was not trouble-free, however, as he lost his fuel flap at one stage after riding over one of the chicanes that line the track - whose kerbs have been raised in recent times.
He improved his time during the session and ended up with a benchmark of one minute 23.936 seconds for the 5.793km circuit. Auto Racing Daily
