Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel warmed up for the crucial qualifying session at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix by setting the fastest time in final practice.
Vettel, third in the standings ahead of Sunday’s season-ending race, recorded a lap of one minute 40.696 seconds.
His team-mate and fellow title contender Mark Webber was second quickest, just 0.133 seconds adrift.
Lewis Hamilton was half a second off the pace and championship leader Fernando Alonso was fourth fastest.

Alonso leads the championship on 24 points, with 25 for a win, 18 for second, 15 for third, 12 for fourth, 10 for fifth, eight for sixth, six for seventh, four for eighth, two for ninth and one for 10th.
Webber is six points adrift in second place, so if he wins on Sunday and Alonso finishes outside the top two, he will become the first Australian F1 champion.
However, should Vettel top the podium and Alonso finish no higher than fifth, the title would be the German’s. BBC Sport
Button looked the most likely to dislodge the Red Bulls in the dying minutes, but a ragged moment in turn 18 put paid to his last and most promising lap so he remained an unrepresentative fifth on the timesheet.
Nonetheless, the changes made to Jenson’s MP4-25 overnight and a further rear suspension tweak during final practice have clearly worked a treat and he should be a major factor in qualifying.
Vitaly Petrov was sixth fastest for Renault ahead of the two Mercedes and his team-mate Robert Kubica, with Nick Heidfeld completing the top 10 in the leading Sauber.
Nico Hulkenberg was the faster of the Williams pair in 11th, while Felipe Massa languished in 12th in the second Ferrari. ITV
