Lewis Hamilton takes pole for the Singapore Grand Prix on Saturday evening. The world champion had lapped his McLaren in 1m 47.891s on his first run in the final qualifying session, when the Brazilian crashed his Brawn in Turn 5 on his second and final run.  Formula 1

Hamilton will start alongside Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel on the front row for Sunday’s race.

Nico Rosberg of Williams was third fastest, ahead of Mark Webber of Red Bull.

Championship leader Jenson Button of Brawn GP will start from 12th. The Associated Press
