The Malaysian Grand Prix has been stopped amid terrible weather conditions.
Heavy rain, thunder and lightning in the gloom has caused the second F1 race of the season to be red flagged and suspended.
Jenson Button was leading at the time the red flag was shown, despite having to complete one extra lap on intermediate tyres than his rivals when the heavens opened.
Toyota’s Timo Glock currently lies second after an earlier tactical gamble by Toyota to put him on intermediates rather than full-wet tyres when the track was damp paid off in spades.
Nick Heidfeld has stealthily moved up to third for BMW Sauber, ahead of the second Toyota of Jarno Trulli and the second Brawn car of Rubens Barrichello.
The race can restart if conditions improve but with a 5:00 pm start and the skies already dark, it appears unlikely.
The teams and drivers will now have to wait for race director Charlie Whiting to rule on whether or not it will resume.
But with the hour getting late, light will also be a factor in his decision.
