Hamilton goes before the International Court of Appeal in Paris on Monday after being relegated to third for his overtaking move at a chicane at Spa two weeks ago.
The Brit’s penalty was his Fifth this year and sparked claims of a pro-Ferrari bias in Formula One.
But Dennis insisted: “Although Lewis has had five penalties this season I wouldn’t claim he hasn’t been treated fairly.
“More importantly we have to have faith in the system and in the fairness of the International Court of Appeal at which our appeal will be heard.”
A stewards decision after the race gave him a 25-seconds penalty for the incident, the equivalent of a drive-through penalty in the race.
It handed victory to Brazilian Felipe Massa of Ferrari who had struggled home second after his team-mate Raikkonen had spun off and crashed with one lap remaining.
