Jenson Button’s charge to the Formula One title now looks unstoppable after his sixth win in seven races.
Had it been decided on wins alone, the Briton might have been looking at taking the crown as early as next month.
As it is, August is possible and September highly likely. Retired triple world champion Niki Lauda agreed it was only a matter of time.
“He’s driving in the most perfect, brilliant way, no mistakes, nothing,” he said after Sunday’s Turkish Grand Prix.

“He is fully in control of every situation. You can’t do a better job than he does. “Why is the car the best? Because he’s working with the car, he’s part of the team,” he added.
“He does not do mistakes and the team does not do mistakes. Everything is absolutely brilliant.”
Hardly anyone wasted time in pondering the outcome of the championship. Button is 26 points clear of Brawn team mate Rubens Barrichello and 32 ahead of Red Bull’s third-placed Sebastian Vettel with 10 races remaining. Gulf Times
Looking ahead to the next race at Silverstone in a fortnight, Button said: “The British Grand Prix is always great. To lead the championship by 26 points is quite a nice feeling so we’ll see what happens.”
Hamilton, last year’s world champion, accepts he will not start winning again until his car improves but wished Button well for his home race.
The McLaren driver said: “I see my role from now on as helping the team to cure the problems with this year’s car and to make next year’s the best it can possibly be. When the team gives me a car to win, I will win.
“Now we look ahead to Silverstone and I really wish Jenson all the best. I hope I can come away from my home race with a great feeling from my home fans. I hope they won’t give up supporting me.” Daily Record.co.uk
Jenson Button will arrive at Silverstone next week for the last British Grand Prix to be staged at the Northamptonshire circuit feeling on top of the motor racing world and ready to enjoy every minute of his home race.

In past years, Button admits, he has been uncomfortable with the amount of support he has received there given the poor performances that he has often turned in at the wheel of uncompetitive cars. This time, with a handsome lead in the championship and with a supreme racing machine to drive, he wants to reward those who have stood and cheered in the difficult times. Times Online

“I don’t want to just win the race, I want a hat-trick there. I want everything. I want fastest lap, I want pole position.
“It’s like that sometimes.
Jenson is brilliant at this point, he is taking every opportunity.
