Jenson Button will be out for revenge on rival Sebastian Vettel tomorrow and warned: I’m going to beat you!
The Brit has vowed to hit back in Vettel’s own backyard after being on the end of a Silverstone spanking by the German three weeks ago.
Button, 29, is determined to get his Formula One title bandwagon rolling again at the Nurburgring by beating the Red Bull ace.
The Brawn GP star, 29, blasted: “My only aim is winning the race. Sebastian will be under the same pressure as I was at Silverstone.
“I want to get my own back on him. If I finish in front of the Red Bulls then I know I will win.
“If I come away and I have finished third or fourth then I will be disappointed. But I am here to win - and that excites me.” The Sun
The boy who has grown to become a man in a year of racing brilliantly in Formula One - winning his maiden Grand Prix at Monza last September - just took it all in his modest stride.
Then with just as much calmness and lack of fuss he turned his sights on winning this weekend’s German Grand Prix on home soil here in the Eiffel mountains where the weather is famously capricious.
“I don’t consider myself as a star - not at all,” he said. “I am just trying to do my job and do my best. I am German of course and here we are racing at home, so there is more attention on all of us, but that is normal.”
“It is our home grand prix. It is similar for an Englishman to drive around Silverstone as it is special. I have had a lot of races here at the Nurburgring in all different categories.
“I like the circuit and it will be my first time around here in an F1 car, so I am definitely looking forward to it.” AFP
