After four wins in five races, championship leader Jenson Button says his runaway success has turned him into a Formula One obsessive and “right boring bastard”.
“This season is weird because after the last couple of races I’ve won, I’ve obviously enjoyed the weekend, but I wake up on a Monday morning and I’m already thinking about the next race,” the Briton said on Wednesday.
“I’m just always thinking about racing,” added the 29-year-old Brawn GP driver, who has a 14-point lead over Brazilian team mate Rubens Barrichello.

“Before, I tried to take my mind away from it when it wasn’t going well, and think about something else.”
“But now I’m always thinking about racing, it’s always running through my mind.
“I’m probably a right boring bastard at the moment, I really am,” said the Monaco resident. “My girlfriend will tell me when she turns up tomorrow.” Guardian.co.uk
“It is quite a strange feeling as obviously it is very different to the rest of my F1 career winning four races out of five.
“But you do get used to it quickly and I will never forget how difficult it can get. When you are winning, finishing second is a disappointment.
“But you do have to learn to think it is not a disappointment and it is not a bad result. Otherwise you go mad.”
Button, 29, was branded a playboy by then-Renault boss Flavio Briatore after anchoring his boat outside the paddock area in Monaco in only his second season in F1 in 2001.
And Button — who has a boat anchored farther away this year — admitted: “I think the bit that Flavio said about the boat was probably correct.
“But I have had a lot of fun in Monaco off the track.” The Sun
