Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Special Reserve, and The Print Network (the preferred print provider of Grand-Am) are giving fans an opportunity to pedal through the corkscrew for the Sunset Bicycle Ride on Saturday of the U. S. Sports Car Invitational delivered by Luggage Express May 18-20. The special ride is included in the price of a two-day admission ticket, with a portion of the ticket donated to Camp Boggy Creek and the Laguna Seca Raceway Fund.
The ride will take place on Saturday, May 19 from 6:30 to 7:30 p. m. on the famed 2.238-mile road course. A host of Rolex Sports Car Series drivers, including Max Papis, Darren Law, Randy Ruhlman, Andy Lally and Craig Stanton are scheduled to lead the tour.
Camp Boggy Creek is a year-round camp for children ages 7-16 who have chronic or life threatening illnesses. The camp, one of Paul Newman’s Hole in the Wall Camps, allows children whose lives have been a series of medical procedures and hospital stays to enjoy traditional camp activities as just a “kid. ” Surrounded by other campers “just like them” they escape the loneliness and isolation they may feel the rest of the year. No child or family pays to attend the family weekends or weeklong summer sessions. Camp Boggy Creek is solely supported by contributions and donations from individuals, corporations and foundations and is a proud charity of Grand American Road Racing.
