The reigning champion heads into Sunday’s British Grand Prix with just nine points from seven races and struggling way back in 11th place in the title race.
Hamilton’s sorry tally is in stark contrast to last year when he lined up at Silverstone with 38 points on the board from eight rounds.
And his crushing victory in the wet fired him from fourth in the table to joint top spot as he raced on to become F 1’s youngest ever champ.
This year, 24-year-old Hamilton trails runaway leader jenson Button by a whopping 52 POINTS already.

“Even if you can’t get a good result the satisfaction you get from racing at the absolute limit is the same.
“I still get a huge buzz from knowing I couldn’t possibly have gone any faster.”
“Motivation is something we have never lacked. We have something to spare.
“Other people have to find it, we have it in our pocket. I have no problems with motivation and getting myself prepared.”
“It is hard for us as we want to be at the front fighting for wins. We have got to stay together and keep our heads and chin up and keep on fighting.”
