Massa Snatches Pole Position In Malaysian GP

Ferrari

It was the second straight year Massa claimed pole at Sepang, with his time of 1:35.748 almost half a second ahead of Raikkonen.

“Our championship is starting now,” Massa said after qualifying.

“What happened in the last race was incredible. Now we can manage to put everything together to have a very consistent, good and quick championship,” he said. Taipai Times

Brazilian Felipe Massa took pole ahead of his Ferrari team-mate Kimi Raikkonen, the 10th in his F1 career and also the second consecutive year he will start from front row at Sepang.

And the Italian outfit look set to secure victory in the 56-lap race today after arch-rivals McLaren’s drivers, Lewis Hamilton and Heikki Kovalainen, were penalised five places on the starting grid.

“In the final part of qualifying, I managed to put together two really good laps after struggling a bit in the earlier session. ”

“There were a few drops of rain right at the end but it had no effect whatsoever on my performance. It’s important to start from the front and I hope I can have a good race, ” said Massa, who added that everything was falling into place. The Star
