Max Mosley Rumors Lessen; Calls For Resignation Increase

There is growing opposition towards Mosley, and at this stage it appears inconceivable he can win a vote of confidence via a secret ballot of the FIA General Assembly to take place in Paris on June 3.
“Accordingly, CAA’s President, Tim Shearman, sent a letter dated Friday, April 4th, to the FIA formally asking for Mr Mosley’s resignation.
“On the same day I received a note from him saying he regretted not being able to attend.”
“For the reputation of the sport, it’s too far away, unrealistic,” criticism from three- times former Formula One world champion Sir Jackie Stewart.
“It means until it happens there will be destabilising influences with regard to the reputation of the FIA and associated bodies. Sportinglife

The Liberal Party of Canada was not already a caricature of itself, the sight of the entire Opposition caucus rising in support of the government yesterday, over a bill that party leader Stephane Dion said he is “adamantly opposed to,” confirmed that we have moved beyond satire and into travesty.
Liberal credibility is now just north of that of Max Mosley, the Formula One boss caught on film taking part in a Nazi fetish orgy with five hookers by a British tabloid.
Mr. Dion has been scathing in his criticism of the Conservative plan, which the government says is aimed at reducing the list of people waiting to come to Canada and targeting those with skills that this country needs. National Post

Max Mosley’s future as FIA president will be decided by a vote of confidence at the organisation’s extraordinary general assembly on June 3.
His position has been under threat after an English tabloid claimed that Mosley took part in a “Nazi-style orgy in a torture dungeon”. The secret ballot, which will take place in Paris, comes after Mosley himself asked for the meeting. Independent.ie

The full membership of the FIA has been invited to the meeting, in which there is expected to be a vote of no confidence in Mosley. The vote will be conducted in a secret ballot.
Mosley has resisted calls for his resignation, and has insisted that his private sexual activities do not have a bearing on his role as FIA President. Grand Prix

The scandal would likely have been a ho-hum tale of sex and bondage of little interest to jaded Europeans were it not for two things. The man holding the whip was one of the most powerful men in motor racing.
The newspaper also published an interview with a woman who said she was one of several prostitutes hired by Mosley to pose as Nazi guards and prisoners.
Mosley has admitted having a sex session with the women but claims it had nothing to do with Nazism.
“It goes without saying that the so-called Nazi element is pure fabrication,” Mosley said after filing suit against News of the World for invasion of privacy.
Meanwhile, Mosley faces a flood of demands for his resignation as FIA president. The Automobile Association of America, a member of FIA, called the incident “distressing and embarrassing.”  Seattle Times
