Ex-FIA President, Max Mosley, has called for the World Motor Sport Council to strip both Ferrari and the two drivers involved, Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa, of the points claimed at the German GP.
The use of team orders during the race has sparked much debate as to what punishment the team should or could receive at the WMSC meeting, scheduled for September 8th.
The 70-year-old believes the $100,000 fine imposed after the race, the maximum fine allowed under the regulations, must be followed by further sanctions if the message is to get through. The F1 Times

Mosley thinks that the points they gained during the race at Hockenheim in July should be deducted.
“Both cars and both drivers should lose the points they achieved in the German Grand Prix,” he said.
“I will not make any recommendation, but on the facts at the moment there should have been some sporting sanction and not only a fine.”
He added: “If a team introduces team orders into a race, heavy penalties should be issued.” SkySports
Most teams no longer favour the team-order rule, which stipulates that teams are not allowed to favour one driver over the other.
But if you want to satisfy the fans, the ban on team orders needs to be maintained. “If a team introduces team orders into a race, heavy penalties should be issued,” he said.

Ferrari would be prepared to launch civil action against the FIA if the team is stripped of its points accrued from the German Grand Prix at the World Motor Sport Council hearing next month, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Italian team was slapped with a fine after race leader Felipe Massa moved over to let Fernando Alonso past to win in July. But several of the sport’s leading figures, including former FIA president Max Mosley, have said that the team should be stripped of its points as well.
“In this sort of situation, the best policy is to respect and to trust in the highest level of the sport’s governing body,” said a Ferrari statement. ESPN F1
One possible option would be to take away the points earned by Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa during the race, with former FIA president Max Mosley stating his belief that the team should lose the maximum score it secured with its controversial 1-2 finish.
Mosley also insisted that he felt that the ban on team orders should remain in place, despite a number of figures calling for it to be removed.
“Most teams are calling for the withdrawal of team orders, which I can understand, because it’s in their interests,” he said. “But if we are to meet the needs of the public, who are in their millions, watching races all around the world and ultimately funding the sport, then we need to keep the ban.” Yahoo!
