They arrived in style but left in shambles. Billed as one of the most glamorous Grand Prix parties, the Stylo Fashion Grand Prix (SFGP) Singapore at the Mercedes-Benz Centre was wrecked at the end.
Things turned ugly at the red carpet when guests waited more than an hour for the event’s valet service to pick up their cars.
The holdup: Misplaced car keys and missing vehicles.
It was supposed to be a simple process: hand your numbered ticket to the valet, and he’ll get your car keys and drive the vehicle out of the carpark to the red carpet.
Trouble brewed when the valets could not find some of the cars keys kept in a white cabinet at the valet station. In some cases, the matching ticket stubs were tagged to the wrong keys.
The valets then separated several sets of ticket stubs and keys from the cabinet and displayed them on the ground so as guests could identify the keys themselves.
