Kemal qualified second, but is confident that his race pace will be good enough to run with Morris. “Qualifying went well and I was trading places with Morris over the session, ” Kemal said.
“There were a few spots of rain on the windscreen when we first went out and again in the middle of the session, but not enough to make a difference. ”
Brad Ward scored an impressive lap time without the benefits of a tow, which plays a huge part around this circuit, to qualify third.
“Anywhere in the top 10 is good so I am really happy with third, ” said Ward.
“If you qualify inside the top 15 then you are really in for a good opportunity for a top result. ”
Masters Cup Series leader Steve MacGreggor continued his domination in the class and finished well ahead of the nearest Masters Cup rookie Ryan Flynn.
“I ran with a few drivers during the session and we were dicing a little bit, ” said MacGreggor.
“We used each other for slip-streaming quite well and even though I would have liked to qualify inside the top 10 overall, to finish 11th is great and I hope to break into the top 10 during the race. ”
