Popular Race Car Drivers Fernandez And Diaz Trade Helmets For Hard Hats

Adrian Fernandez and Luis Diaz will have an additional incentive to take their #15 Lowe’s Acura Lola to the front in this Saturday’s American Le Mans Series (ALMS) race – the Lone Star Grand Prix at JAGFlo Speedway Reliant Park. The Lowe’s Fernandez Racing drivers today participated in a Habitat for Humanity build northeast of downtown Houston with Fernandez announcing that the team will donate 10 percent (10%) of all prize money earned in its 2007 ALMS campaign to Habitat for Humanity.
“Today was the second Habitat for Humanity build that I have participated in, ” said Fernandez, who last raced on the streets of Houston in 2001. “This is just a tremendous program with people coming together to help families in need to build their own homes and I can see why Habitat has a special place in so many hearts at Lowe’s.
“This has struck a note with me personally, and I am very happy to announce that Lowe’s Fernandez Racing will be supporting Habitat for Humanity by donating a percentage of our prize money from every ALMS race. It is a great motivation for everyone on our team to do their best to help a great program. Our participation in the build today was to help spread the word about Habitat for Humanity and to encourage people to get involved and volunteer. I am looking forward to doing more builds as we tour the country with the ALMS race schedule. ”
