McLaren have had the upper hand on the first two days of the ongoing test at Hockenheim, with Lewis Hamilton setting the fastest times.
Raikkonen was second and third respectively.
However, the World Champion is playing down the times, stating that he believes Ferrari’s package is good enough to fight McLaren for the win next weekend.
“I don’t know. I haven’t looked at what lap times they are doing,” he said when asked about McLaren’s pace.
“We have enough work of our own to do so maybe you know better. For sure McLaren will be fast. I think we have a good package and we haven’t lost any speed, we just need to have a good weekend.
“The circuit is nice, I always enjoy it here. It is too early to say against the others, but the feeling with the car is pretty good and that is always a nice sign.
“But we need to wait until the race to see really what will happen. But I am quite happy.”
Hamilton, 23, is level on points with Ferrari’s Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen at the halfway stage of the season after winning at Silverstone on Sunday, while Robert Kubica is just two points adrift.
The battle for the title seems set to go down to the wire for the second year in a row and Hamilton, who missed out by a point to Raikkonen in October, is already gearing up for a thrilling finish in the last race in Brazil.
“I can only guess, but I am sure it will be a lot like last year,” Hamilton said. “Last year it was just as close between the top three drivers, and there was one point separating us at the end.
“So I can only assume it will be at the last race again. I hope it’s not, but…”
“The championship positions would have been different, but that is just the way racing is and that’s what makes thing exciting.
