Hamilton has been part of the McLaren family since 1995 and he became Formula One’s youngest-ever World Champion last year after narrowly missing out on the F1 crown in 2007.
Dennis insists Hamilton is very much a “feet-on-the-ground guy” and believes the support he receives is key to his success.
“I look at what he(Kovailainen) has achieved, with his physical condition and his mental approach, and his ability. It is so easy for his performance to be overshadowed by Lewis, but if you start fuel correcting their qualifying performances, then Heikki did a fantastic job last year and will do a great job this year.”
