Sebastian Vettel Sets Bar Low - Wants Victory For All Remaining Races

Sebastian Vettel has admitted that nothing less than victory in the final four races will do if he is to beat the Brawn drivers to the world championship.

His Red Bull team’s miserable Monza weekend - coupled with Brawn’s one-two finish - dropped Vettel 26 points behind Jenson Button with only four races to go, which means he can be knocked out of mathematical contention in Singapore if the Briton out-scores him by four points or more.

“We are looking forward to Singapore as the target there will clearly be to win, as it is the target at all remaining races.

“Scoring the maximum points is the target, and regarding the championship, we will see what that means.”

He said his only hope is to go flat-out for victory in Singapore and beyond, as simply out-scoring Button in the minor points will no longer be enough. ITV

“Everywhere and anytime! From now on our target has to be to win. We will see every race separately, and in the end we will count the points and will see whether it is enough or not. It’s true the gap is quite big - 26 points says it all - and it will be very difficult to catch up, but be sure we will try.” Auto Racing Daily

“The Championship isn’t over our target is to do our best, we’re here to win races and the Championship, so we have to focus on that, all the rest is out of our hands.”

Team principal Christian Horner said it was their worst of the season.

He said: “Unfortunately we just weren’t quick enough in Monza it’s been our worst performance of the year at a track which has exposed some of our weaknesses.

“Hopefully the remaining circuits will come back more in our favour.” Auto Racing Daily

Sure it didn't go unnoticed by many of you, but as Bob Jenkins noted, "Sports Jobs" with Junior Seau is going to start on time. #indycar

No overtaking again, i wish they would get rid of the wings completely in F1 & allow them to get their downforce from the floor of the car.

See Will Power won the IRL race - but I didn't actually see the race thanks to the idiotic Versus vs. DirecTV issues

Am told #kurtbusch to finally make an #nhra pass in about 45m. On a side note, this #indycar race I'm watching on dvr is bumming me out

@brantjames Based on multiple tweets from @VersusIndyCar, it appears they agreed with us; putting onus on #IndyCar for timed race decision.
