Tafel Racing will be spread across the U. S.A. this weekend. James Tafel, and Kentucky Derby winner Street Sense, will be at Pimlico on Saturday going for the second leg of horse racing’s Triple Crown in the Preakness Stakes. Jim Tafel, son, will be behind the wheel of his American Le Mans Series (ALMS) Tafel Racing Porsche 997 RSR at Miller Motorsport Park in Utah. Jim’s Grand-Am Rolex Series team will also be on the track on Saturday at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Salinas, California. All of the Tafel steeds will be on the track at the same time on Saturday afternoon, May 19.
“It will be a big day on Saturday, a lot going on, ” said Jim Tafel. “My heart will be with my Father and Street Sense at Pimlico going for the second leg of the Triple Crown in the Preakness. My head will be behind the wheel at Miller Motorsport Park with my ALMS team. My Grand-Am team will be at Laguna Seca, all on the same day, in three different time zones, and at some point all at the same time.
