AT&T Williams had a difficult qualifying session for Sunday’s British Grand Prix atSilverstone today. Having suffered with an unresolved suspension issue all weekend,Nico Rosberg was forced out of Q1 in P18. Kazuki Nakajima fared only slightly bettermaking it into Q2 but was restricted to P15, the conclusion of a lack of grip and anunderperforming car.
Nico Rosberg:
I’ve had a problem with my suspension all weekend which is making the car really hardto drive in the corners because it just jumps around all over the place. We’ve obviouslybeen trying to find a solution throughout the sessions but, so far, nothing has worked. The race is going to be very tough.
Kazuki Nakajima:
Obviously it was a very hard qualifying session for us. I made it through to Q2, but wasstruggling with grip, and the difference between our times and those of the other team’sis quite significant. We need to find something from the car, and from me, and we willneed to do a lot of work tonight to make sure we have the best strategy in place for therace.
Sam Michael, Technical Director:
We had a malfunction in the suspension system of Nico’s car which prevented him fromimproving his lap time. We will correct it for tomorrow by changing parts. Kazuki did nothave the same problem, but our car is clearly not working well at Silverstone and his gridposition is the result. This does not represent the capability of the AT&T Williams team, and we must work to do rectify that.
