The Grand-Am Rolex Series– Round 3
Wolf Henzler from Nuertingen, near Stuttgart in Germany, narrowly lost out on a podium placing in todays third round of the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series. He and his co-driver, Eric Lux of Buffalo, NY, in their No. 74 Tafel Racing Porsche GT3 Cup car, were amongst the challengers for the lead throughout the 2 hour 30 minute race, leading the GT field several times, but were nudged out of third place by rival Dirk Werner in the closing laps. By finishing in fourth place they did, however, gain valuable points towards their attack on the 2007 GT Championship title.
Henzler, currently holder of the Porsche Cup (awarded to the most successful privateer Porsche driver in the world during 2006) was full of praise for the Tafel Racing teams planned strategy, even if the high number of yellow flag/Safety Car periods (7) didnt always allow plans to run smoothly.
