Sitting on his Yamaha PW50 motocross racing bike among 42 other kids his age was far different from what then 6-year-old Dylan Oestricher was used to.
Being one of the youngest racers at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tenn., for the 2008 American Motocross Association Amateur National Motocross Championship didn’t make things easier.
Since he began racing at the age of 4, Dylan has competed in 19 races and won seven of them, including the 2008 Gulf Coast Championship Series for his age group.
No matter what happens though, Dylan is focused on having a good time.
“I’m a lot better this year than last year,” Dylan said. “But it’s more important to have fun than to win.”
