Andy Lally: “We made the truck better in qualifying”

Kevin Buckler and The Racer’s Group (TRG) is off to a flying start at Phoenix. Driver Andy Lally will race to the green flag for tonight’s Casino Arizona 150 from his 28th place qualifying effort.

Competing in just his second start in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (CTS), Lally continues on his learning curve with a keen eye toward 2008. His time of 28.092 seconds will see Lally start the 150 mile race from the 14th row.

“We made the truck better in qualifying,” Lally said. “I like the way we went with the setup. We made a lot of changes before qualifying and the truck felt better, even though it wasn’t really reflected in the time. I think we have a good truck for the race.”

In related news, TRG announced today that Docupak, Inc., a national promotional marketing firm specializing in recruiting programs administration for the military, is joining the list of sponsors of the TRG Craftsman Truck Series entry driven by Andy Lally. “Our sponsorship is intended as a tribute to those who volunteer to serve the country in the Army Reserve. We are proud to join TRG Motorsports in honoring a century of service to the nation by the outstanding men and women of the Army Reserve,” Megan Kincaid, Docupak spokesman said. Docupak administers the Army Reserve Recruiting Assistance Program (www.AR-RAP.com) on behalf of the Army Reserve.

TRG would like to thank its associate sponsors on the truck, including NAI Hiffman, Kelley Construction, The Private Bank, and Adobe Road Winery.

TRG was founded by Kevin and Debra Buckler in 1993 and has been competing at the top level of sports car racing ever since. TRG has the most wins of any team in the Grand-Am Rolex Series with 23, including the 2005 and 2006 Rolex Series GT championship trophy to go along with wins at the Rolex 24 at Daytona and the 24 Hours or Le Mans.

TRG is a manufacturer and distributor of high-performance racing parts. The group specializes in engine and chassis building as well as full service professional race car preparation. The company also provides electrical and mechanical engineering services, driver development and arrive-and-drive opportunities. TRG is based in Petaluma, Calif., near its home track of Infineon Raceway in Sonoma.

The Casino Arizona 150 will be run on tonight, Friday, November 9 and will be televised live on the SPEED Channel starting at 8:30 p. m. EST. The race will also be televised to troops around the world on the Armed Forces Network.
