Coachbuilder Zagato has revealed the final versions of its TZ3 sports cars, which pay tribute to the 100-year anniversary (1910-2010) of Alfa Romeo. The TZ3 Corsa was shown off as a one-off concept at the Villa d’Este Concours in Italy last year, and spawned a road-going model to be made in seriously small quantities.
There are two versions of the car, the race-inspired TZ3 Corsa and the road-legal TZ3 Stradale.
Zagato is building nine copies of the TZ3 Stradale, calling it “a design exercise” and “an avant-garde car.” As had been rumored, the car is built on the mechanical underpinnings of the Dodge Viper ACR-X and wears a bespoke carbon-fiber body. Although Zagato doesn’t explicitly say so, we believe the Stradale also uses the Viper’s 8.4-liter V-10 engine for motivation, which was good for 640 horsepower and 605 pound-feet of torque in the track-focused ACR-X.
