Two Late Model division regulars from the Waterford Speedbowl were invited this week to compete in the second American-Canadian Tour Invitational next Saturday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
Jeff Smith of Old Lyme and Richard Staskowski of Hope Valley, R.I. got their invitations to the event on Tuesday. Both participated in a test session at New Hampshire Motor Speedway last month.
Staskowski confirmed that he will be going to the event.
“I was surprised [to get an invitation],” Staskowski said. “I think it’s a good opportunity to try something different and be involved in such a big race, such a big deal. It’s a big deal for any Late Model driver to make it there and to be able to represent the Speedbowl is a great thing.”
