That’s one explanation favored by auto racing fans when asked why they find watching cars travel in circles so fascinating.
And it’s an understatement.
Even for those who disdain auto racing, watching a NASCAR race in person for the first time can be a startling experience.
The track is a cauldron of asphalt and concrete. The smells are a mix of rubber and fumes. The cars or trucks are plastered with ads, and so are their drivers.
But all of that takes a backseat to one element: speed.
