A genius idea by a student of Arizona State University might just revolutionalise the way we perceive wind energy to be produced.
No need for vast wind fields, wind energy can be generated on something as simple as the highway signage poles!
Proposed on a busy highway system near Phoenix this connects 515 square miles of the Sonoran desert. The design will fit on the horizontal steel tube along with the highway signage, like a parasite catalyst.
Each single wind turbine will be able to produce 9.600 Kwh of energy, annually even if the average wind speeds is kept at a minimum of10 mph. This energy is sufficient to light up a 700 sq ft apartment.
