The 2007 SCCA Yokohama Advan Volunteers of the Year were announced Thursday night at the 44th SCCA National Championship Runoffs Presented by AT&T, being held at Heartland Park Topeka.
Ten winners were announced in the Emergency Services, Flagging & Communications, Pit/Grid, Race Administration, Registration, Start, Scrutineering, Timing & Scoring, Sound Control and Race Steward specialties, with one of the group being selected to receive a trip to be determined, courtesy of Yokohama.
The 2007 Yokohama Advan Volunteers of the Year are: Bob Thompson, Kansas City Region Emergency Services; Diane Prokopf, St. Louis Region Flagging & Communications; Carolyn Bayer-Broring, Washington D. C. Region Pit & Grid; Steven Jaroch, San Francisco Region Race Administration; Wanda Cecil, South Carolina Region Registration; Ty Till, Rio Grande Region Scrutineering; Wayne Hill, Houston Region Sound Control; Bruce Brunner, San Francisco Region Starter; Barrett Braun, St. Louis Region Steward; Denise Patten, New England Region Timing & Scoring
In the random draw of all eligible Volunteers of the Year, Hill was the recipient of a trip to be determined by Yokohama.
The SCCA National Championship Runoffs® Presented by AT&T, The Pinnacle of American Motorsports, will crown Sports Car Club of America’s Club Racing National Champions for the 44th-consecutive year in 2007. The best amateur drivers from across North America convene on Heartland Park Topeka’s 2.5-mile road course each fall in what is considered the “Olympics” of motorsports. This year’s event begins with four days of qualifying, Oct. 8-11, and concludes with three days of racing, Oct. 12-14.
