The Tire Rack® SCCA ProSolo National Championship kicks off the Sports Car Club of America Championship season this weekend at Heartland Park Topeka.
Approximately 250 Soloists will take up residence in Topeka for two days of Christmas tree starts, tire thrashing and cone grazing. Thirty-one classes will crown winners on Friday and Saturday morning before the Challenge rounds commence on Saturday afternoon.
Last year’s winner Robert Seelig, of Edmond, Okla., returns in his Street Touring® S2 Honda CRX to defend his title. Beth McClure-Strelnieks, of Cedar Park, Texas, last year’s Ladies Champion, also returns in a Mazda 3.
With 17 cars, Super Stock leads the event in entries and will be an all out battle of sports car favorites. Corvettes, Lotus Elises and Porsches will go head-to-head to prove which is the total package of speed and agility. Meanwhile, classes like F Stock, H Stock and Street Touring S will pit popular Acuras, Hondas and Mazdas against one another.
Unlike previous years where a season-long points championship was also decided at the final ProSolo event of the year, the 2007 ProSolo National Championship will be a winner-takes-all event.
