Tommy Archer, of Duluth, Minn., led the field in morning practice for Round Three of the SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge GT Championship, part of the Larry H. Miller Dealerships Utah Grand Prix at Miller Motorsports Park. Doug Peterson, of Bonita Springs, Fla., and Eric Curran, of East Hampton, Mass., completed the top three.
Driving the No. 5 MOPAR/Autohaus Motorsport Dodge Viper, Archer’s fast lap of 2:56.616 (91.439 mph), was more than 1.5 seconds quicker around the 4.486-mile, 24-turn road course than Peterson, but Archer was quick to play down the large deficit.
