Roush-Fenway Racing driver and two-time Kentucky Speedway race winner Carl Edwards clinched his first NASCAR Busch Series Championship with an 11th-place run at Texas Motor Speedway Nov. 3. He will hold a 552-point lead over David Reutimann in the series standings entering Race 34 of 35 at Phoenix International Speedway Nov. 10. Edwards has registered four wins, 14 top-five and 19 top-10 finishes in 33 series events this season. He took the lead in the series standings for the first time on March 4 with a fourth-place finish in Mexico City, Mexico has not surrendered it in the past 30 events. Defending series champion and inaugural Kentucky Speedway NASCAR Busch Series race winner Kevin Harvick took his sixth win of the season in the Texas event by 3.486 seconds over Kyle Busch.
NASCAR NEXTEL Cup series regulars Clint Bowyer and Matt Kenseth completed the race top five. Rookie Brad Keselowski took his second straight top-10 finish with a sixth-place Texas run. He all five of top-10 finishes this season in the 12 races he has driven for car owner Dale Earnhardt, Jr. The series travels to Phoenix International Raceway for its next race on Nov. 10. Event coverage will begin at 4:00 p. m., on ESPN2, the Motor Racing Radio Network (NRN) and Sirius Satellite Radio Channel 128. Bowyer won the April 20 race at the track that Kyle Busch started from the pole position.
