Nextel Cup driver Clint Bowyer won the pole for Saturday afternoon’s Arizona.Travel 200 at the Phoenix International Raceway. The No.2 Chevrolet circled the one-mile oval in 27.077 seconds (132.954 m.p.h.).
The pole victory was Bowyer’s first of the season and sixth of his Busch career.
Starting alongside Bowyer will be Scott Wimmer, who posted a time of 27.258 seconds.
Still two more Nextel Cup drivers hold down the second row - Kasey Kahne (27.330) and Kyle Busch (27.345), who won last night’s Craftsman Truck Series race over the same track. Sports Network.com

It was his first pole of the season, and career pole No. 6 for the Richard Childress Racing driver.
Bowyer will be joined on the front row by RCR teammate Scott Wimmer, who turned a lap of 132.071 mph on the 1-mile oval.
Gillett Evernham Motorsports’ Kasey Kahne, Hendrick Motorsports’ Kyle Busch and Roush Fenway Racing’s Jamie McMurray rounded out the top five.
