Stephen Leicht posted a 20th place finish in the No. 90 CitiFinancial Ford on Saturday as the NASCAR Busch Series competed in the first short-track event of the season at Bristol Motor Speedway. Leicht persevered through a typical crash filled Bristol race that produced 12 cautions for 103 laps.
Leicht started the Sharpie Mini 300 from the 31st position and with assistance from spotter David Green, he held his own among the tightly packed field. A couple of early cautions gave Leicht a moment to catch his breath and report to crew chief, Cully Barraclough, that the car was “a little too free getting in. ”
With four caution flags in the books on lap 57, Leicht would bring the CitiFinancial Ford down pit road two times over the next four laps for four tires, fuel and an air pressure adjustment. He would rejoin the race in 26th. A long green flag run would place Leicht one lap down to the leaders on lap 94, however his lap times remained consistently strong keeping him in the top-25 for the duration of the 300-lap event.
