Marcos Ambrose has earned his first NASCAR Busch Series pole position by driving to fastest in qualifying for the Sam’s Town 250 at Memphis Motorsports Park in Memphis, Tennessee today.

The Australian has one previous NASCAR pole after winning the pole in last year’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event in Kentucky.

This effort is the first time an Australian has won a NASCAR Busch Series pole position.

David Reutimann qualified in second position with this year’s Indianapolis 500 winner Dario Franchitti qualifying third for the 250-lap event at the 0.75-mile oval.
