NASCAR Busch Series Rookie, Brad Keselowski, attacked the “Lady in Black” this past weekend for the Diamond Hill Plywood 200 at Darlington Raceway. Known for its abrasive surface that spotlights tire wear, the historic 1.366-mile track is a proven challenge – a challenge that Keselowski diligently prepared for and eagerly accepted. Keselowski, driver of the No. 23 MACtac® Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS, was the fastest of the 10 Rookie drivers running in the Rookie NASCAR Busch Series practice, with a lap time of 159.932 mph. Capitalizing on that success, Keselowski ran a very solid race until mechanical problems forced him to accept a 36th place finish.
“We had one of the best cars out there, but just had an unfortunate ending to what was going to be a great race, ” Keselowski said. “We found ourselves pinned against the wall – then forced down the raceway into Matt Kenseth and the 17 car, resulting in mechanical problems from that point on. We are going to work hard over the next two weeks so we can perform well at Charlotte and claim our rightful position on the leader board. ”
