The Saturday, March 17 Nicorette 300 NASCAR Busch Series race will be dedicated in memory of NASCAR champion Benny Parsons. The Parsons family, including sons Kevin and Keith, nephew Craig, brothers Steve and former Cup Series driver Phil and widow Terri, will be recognized as Grand Marshals for the race.
Benny Parsons was one of six NASCAR legends to serve as a Grand Marshal of the 2006 Nicorette 300 and was scheduled to serve as Grand Marshal for the 2007 edition of the race. Fans in attendance will take part in a celebration of Parson’s life including a video montage featuring Parsons race and broadcast footage and memories from Parsons fellow competitors and friends. Throughout the entire race weekend, NEXTEL Cup and Busch cars as well as Craftsman Trucks will display a commemorative “BP-72†decal on their vehicle recognizing Parsons and his car No. 72.
