The stronger alliance between RCR and KHI also is a natural, as Kevin Harvick drives one of RCR’s Cup cars, and the Busch and Craftsman Truck series teams he owns with wife DeLana already utilize RCR engines. Now, with RCR planning on adding a fourth Cup team next year, it will allow KHI to step up by helping RCR in terms of technical aspects such as testing and working on the aerodynamic, suspension and chassis programs. Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Kevin Harvick each strengthened the tie between a personally owned race team and the driver’s respective 2008 NASCAR Nextel Cup team owner. Car owner Rick Hendrick will merge his existing Busch team into JR Motorsports, the Busch team Earnhardt owns.

For Richard Childress Racing, Kevin Harvick Inc. will “take a more active role in increased technical alliance with regard to testing, aerodynamics, suspension and chassis” on the Busch side according to a statement from RCR.

Car owner Rick Hendrick will merge his existing Busch team into JR Motorsports, the Busch team Earnhardt owns. Harvick, meanwhile, strengthened the existing alliance between Richard Childress and Kevin Harvick Inc., which races in the Busch and Truck Series.
The deals were announced separately Monday, and come on the heels of mergers last week between Dale Earnhardt Inc. and Ginn Racing, and a partnership between Robert Yates Racing and the open-wheel organization of Newman/Haas/Lanigan.
