NASCAR Nextel Cup: Kevin Harvick Strengthens Alliance Between Richard Childress And Kevin Harvick Inc KHI

The stronger alliance between RCR and KHI also is a natural, as Kevin Harvick drives one of RCR’s Cup cars, and the Busch and Craftsman Truck series teams he owns with wife DeLana already utilize RCR engines. Now, with RCR planning on adding a fourth Cup team next year, it will allow KHI to step up by helping RCR in terms of technical aspects such as testing and working on the aerodynamic, suspension and chassis programs.  Mark Ashenfelter, ESPN.com

Car owner Rick Hendrick will merge his existing Busch team into JR Motorsports, the Busch team Earnhardt owns. Harvick, meanwhile, strengthened the existing alliance between Richard Childress and Kevin Harvick Inc., which races in the Busch and Truck Series.

The deals were announced separately Monday, and come on the heels of mergers last week between Dale Earnhardt Inc. and Ginn Racing, and a partnership between Robert Yates Racing and the open-wheel organization of Newman/Haas/Lanigan.
