LEICHT LAS VEGAS NOTES-
This weekend Stephen Leicht returns to the site of his debut with CitiFinancial Racing. Leicht made his first career start in the No. 90 CitiFinancial Ford and third for RYR last year at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, where he started seventh and finished 18th.
The team participated in the open test at LVMS in February in preparation for this weekend’s event, which has given Leicht a lot of confidence heading into the Sam’s Town 300.
LEICHT’S THOUGHTS ON VEGAS-
“I had a great test at LVMS a few weeks ago. The new track surface is extremely fast and has a lot of grip. The new banking should generate some great racing for the fans. The first few races have been a let down for us. We had fast cars at Daytona and Mexico and were caught up in wrecks that weren’t our fault. We’re going to try and turn our season around this weekend. â€
CHASSIS INFORMATION-
The CitiFinancial team is taking chassis No. B16 to Las Vegas Motor Speedway. This is the same car that Leicht raced two weeks ago at California Speedway, started 25th and finished 20th.
WORTHY CAUSE-
Leicht will participate in the J. J. Yeley Charity Golf Classic benefiting Phoenix Children’s Hospitals on March 8th, in Scottsdale, Ariz. Leicht lived just outside of Phoenix for two years when he was three years old.
POINTS STANDINGS-
Leicht and the CitiFinancial Racing team are currently 21st in the NASCAR Busch Series point standings with 254 points, just 56 markers out of 10th position.
MEXICO CITY REWIND-
Leicht was poised to post a career best NASCAR Busch Series finish during the running of Sunday’s Telcel-Motorola 200 before another car made contact with Leicht on the last lap, relegating him to a 27th-place finish.
