Nissan Motor Co. named Alain Dassas as its first chief financial officer in four years, as Chief Executive Officer Carlos Ghosn seeks to reverse a slump in sales at Japan’s third-biggest carmaker and parent Renault SA.
Dassas, the 61-year-old president of Renault’s Formula One team, will assume the job starting Sept. 17, Tokyo-based Nissan said in a release today. Naoko Fujimura, Bloomberg
After just sixteen months as president of Renault’s formula one team, Alain Dassas is vacating the role, the French carmaker announced on Tuesday.
The 61-year-old Frenchman’s successor is Bernard Rey, currently senior vice president of Renault CEO office, with Dassas appointed chief financial officer of Renault-affiliated Nissan. DueMotori.com
He was president of the Renault Formula One Team since April 2006. Nissan and Renault are joined together through an alliance that includes cross stock ownership.
