Production
Production in Japan for the month of February 2009 experienced a year-on-year decrease for the fourth consecutive month (since November 2008).
Production in regions outside of Japan experienced a year-on-year decrease for the fifth consecutive month (since October 2008), although production in China set all-time record for the month of February.
Worldwide production experienced a year-on-year decrease for the fourth consecutive month (since November 2008).
Japan Domestic Market Sales
Total domestic sales for the month of February 2009 experienced a year-on-year decrease for the fourth consecutive month (since November 2008).
New vehicle registrations in February experienced a year-on-year decrease for the fourth consecutive month (since November 2008).
Sales of mini-vehicles in February experienced a year-on-year decrease for the third consecutive month (since December 2008).
Fit was the industry’s best-selling car among new vehicle registrations for the month of February 2009, with sales of 9,551 units. Freed was the industry’s eighth best-selling car with sales of 5,147 units. All-new Insight was the industry’s tenth best-selling car with sales of 4,906 units.
Life was the industry’s fifth best-selling car among mini-vehicles for the month of February 2009, with sales of 8,615 units. Zest was the industry’s ninth best-selling car with sales of 4,218 units.
Exports from Japan
Total exports from Japan in February 2009 experienced a year-on-year decrease for the fifth consecutive month (since October 2008).
