Michigan International Speedway’s continued commitment to race fans took another important step with the approval of several capital improvement projects for the 2007 summer racing season.
Although MIS has yearly goals, its primary goal of providing the best possible experience to the race fan is ongoing. With previous announcements regarding grandstand replacements in Turn One and revised outbound traffic patterns, MIS will also make a number of smaller improvements for 2007.
“Even though traffic and more comfortable grandstands are large-scale improvements, many of these smaller projects are just as important, ” track President Roger Curtis said. “Our goal is for every fan to have a great experience every time they visit MIS. Any time we can make improvements, large or small, it’s good for our fans. ”
Some of the capital improvement projects for 2007 include the design of new scoreboards for future installation, installing showers for the Northwoods/Northfield campground, additional paved tram routes, a larger NEXTEL Vision screen in turns one and two, pedestrian directional signage on the MIS property, two new jet-dryers and in-depth research for a new site plan, which will lay the groundwork for future improvements.
