Silverstone Announces A Number of Improvements to Its Disabled Facilities

With less than five weeks to go until this year’s FORMULA 1™ Santander British Grand Prix, Silverstone has announced a number of improvements to its disabled facilities, as preparation for the biggest motorsport event on the UK calendar steps up a gear. Disabled fans heading to the British Grand Prix on 6-8 July can now make use of improved facilities in Woodcote B grandstand where, undercover and superbly located with views of Pits Straight and the complex at Luffield, 31 additional wheelchair spaces have been made available to race fans.
Each of these spaces, easily accessible for wheelchair users, also has the added benefit of two allocated seats for friends and family. Silverstone has selected the Woodcote B grandstand for these developments due to its close proximity to amenities, including the trade mall, catering outlets and car parking, along with the excellent view of the giant screens installed at the circuit for the British Grand Prix.
These specifically designated areas at Woodcote can be booked for any race meeting at Silverstone throughout the season. Circuit bosses have also introduced a policy for each of its promoted events, offering free entry for one carer accompanying a wheelchair user. For larger events at Silverstone, including the British Grand Prix on 8 July, the circuit also provides an ‘Event Mobility’ service, making wheelchairs and scooters available to those who may struggle to access different sections of the circuit.
All hospitality packages at Silverstone’s biggest event of the year, the British Grand Prix, are designed to accommodate the requirements of race fans with disabilities – providing guests with a first class level of customer service and a fantastic weekend of Formula One action.
