Wescast Industries Inc. ("Wescast")(TSX: WCS. A) announced today that its European business unit, Wescast Hungary Zrt., has been awarded several new programs from major automakers in the region.
Beginning in 2007, Wescast will provide cast and machined exhaust manifolds for BMW, Audi and PSA Peugeot Citroen. The BMW manifolds are for the 1.6L I4 engine program (Mini Cooper), being built in the United Kingdom. Manifolds for the Audi 3.2L V6 engine program (Audi A4 and A6) will be shipped to Audi’s Gyor, Hungary engine plant while the PSA Peugeot Citroen business is for the 1.4L I4 engine program at the Douvrin, France engine plant.
