Andretti Green Racing (AGR) announced today it has hired Fred Kreckman as its general counsel and Michelle Gates as his assistant. The move becomes effective July 1.
Kreckman comes to Andretti Green from Paris, Ill., where he has practiced law since 1978. The Maryland native holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland and a law degree from the University of Michigan Law School.

Gates, who is a lifelong resident of Paris, Ill., is a graduate of Indiana Business College and has worked as Kreckman’s assistant since 1993. “Fred and Michelle have worked very closely with Andretti Green since the inception of the company and will become even more valuable to us by working in house, ” said Andretti Green’s president and chief operating officer Kevin Savoree. “As a company, we have close to 200 agreements in place that govern our business environment. Having Fred and Michelle within our organization will be very beneficial. “
Andretti Green, which is in its fifth year of operation, continues to field four cars in the IndyCar Series and also campaigns single-car efforts in the American Le Mans Series and Indy Pro Series. It also operates the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, which saw its third successful event conclude this past April.
