Rahal can’t discuss the situation with Sharp pending litigation, but it seems clear the IRL’s most experienced driver will race in the American Le Mans Series in 2008. Rahal’s enthusiasm for next season is tied to the strong test Ryan Hunter-Reay delivered with the team’s No. 17 car last week in Sonoma, Calif. Hunter-Reay, who joined the team in July, is expected to be in the car for the season-opening race in March. “Ryan did a really good job and we didn’t know if the car was good, bad or indifferent,” Rahal said. “What we found out is, it’s pretty darn good, in fact. That’s why I’m excited. It’s been a while since I had that kind of fun.”
